Greetings in the spirit of unity and understanding
On behalf of the Sri Lankan Sangha Sabha of GB, I am deeply honoured to extend our warmest greetings for Inter Faith Week 2023. It is a profound joy for us to come together, acknowledging the diverse faith communities in the UK and celebrating the invaluable contributions they make to our neighbourhoods and society at large.
In the spirit of this year's theme, focusing on the remarkable work carried out by faith communities for social justice, we are inspired by the shared commitment we all have in making the world a better place. Our collective efforts, fueled by compassion and empathy, bridge the gaps that divide us, strengthening the bonds of harmony and love.
The teachings of Buddha remind us of our inter -connectedness, emphasizing compassion, understanding, and respect for all beings. It is in this spirit that we embrace Inter Faith Week, appreciating the unique gifts each faith tradition brings to the tapestry of our shared lives.
May this week be a time of deepened understanding, where we learn from one another, appreciate our differences, and celebrate our shared humanity. Let us continue to work hand in hand, nurturing a world where love triumphs over hatred, understanding over ignorance, and unity over division.
With heartfelt gratitude and blessings for a successful Inter Faith Week.
In Metta (loving-kindness) and Karuna (compassion),
Ven. Bogoda Seelawimala
Head of The London Buddhist Vihara.
