19 & 26 January,
2 February 2017 Mahaparinibbana Sutta (3 weeks)
An account of the last 3 months of the Buddha’s life, it is partly straightforward narrative, but it also includes references to profound aspects of the Dhamma.


9, 16 & 23 February Satipatthana Sutta (3 weeks)
The Four Foundations of Mindfulness/The Discourse on the Arousing of Mindfulness/Frames of Reference. The Buddha's comprehensive practical instructions on meditation and the development of mindfulness as the basis for insight.


2 & 9 March Sammaditthi Sutta (2 weeks) The Discourse on Right View. How the four noble truths, dependent origination, and the knowledge that ends mental fermentation (asavas) all build upon the basic dichotomy between skillful and unskillful action.
